Are you interested in learning how to knit? Join us for an introduction to knitting and get started creating!
This introductory class is for beginners who want to learn the basics of knitting. Our knitting expert will guide you through the fundamentals of knitting tools, yarn and stitches. During class, participants will learn to tie a slip knot, cast on stitches, make the knit stitch, bind off, and finish a piece.
We’ll provide: Knitting Needles US 8 (5mm), Single pointed, Darning needle, ball of yarn, scissors, printed handouts and sample swatches.
Skills: This class will cover knitting tools, yarn and stitches.
What you’ll be able to do by the end of class: You’ll leave with printed handouts, sample swatches (to be used as a washcloth), a class project, knitting supplies and a new skill.
Whom it’s for: Beginners with little to no knowledge of knitting. Ages 8 and up welcomed, if under 16, must be accompanied by adult.
What to bring: Water and an appetite for learning!
