This class will cover the basics of building with clay. It will go over safety, best practices and train students how to use our space, procedures and policies. After taking the class, students will gain confidence to use this material for their creative pursuits and be certified to use the hand building studio. It does NOT however, certify use of the wheels.

• Wedging
• Slab rolling
• Scoring/bonding pieces together
• Importance of wall thickness and hollow forms
• Glazing
• Our Studio Policies

At the end of class each students will have made a pressed slab form (donated for the use of a future class) and glazed a pre-bisqued form donated from the previous class which they will get to keep once fired.
