CAD 101: Onshape for Beginners

Want to bring your ideas into three dimensions? Want to 3D print something new or plan out a wood- or metalworking project? Create new gadgets, doo-hickies, or thingamabobs? This class will introduce you to Computer Aided Design in Onshape to get started!

This class is meant for true beginners. Your instructor will introducing you to the Onshape workspace, how to navigate around your model, creating sketches and extruding shapes, and modifying features. The class will also have time for a creative design exercise to create a custom object that can be 3D printed at a later time.

Whom it’s for: Anyone aged 8+ (youth 8-17 must have a guardian present) who is comfortable with computers. No experience necessary!

What we’ll provide: Computers with the software already installed.

What you’ll create: A custom model that you can 3D print!
