** Note:  You can use our computers, which we recommend, or a Windows/Linux laptop of your own (or mac running an emulator) with the VCarve Pro Trial Edition installed.**

In this class, you will learn the fundamentals of VCarve Pro.  You’ll learn how to create paths (and holes and letters and pockets) that can be sent to robots to cut into wood (including our wood CNC router). We’ll teach you about the different cutting bits that are used, what you’ll need to consider in designing your cuts, and the settings you’ll use for different types of bits and material.

This class is a pre-requisite for the 2/2 Wood CNC Certification: Intro to Shapeoko Router.  At the completion of this VCarve course, you can register for the CNC router certification with your instructor that will take place at the makerspace at a time that works for you.  This class is an additional cost of $50 for materials and maintenance (note: not eligible for free class coupons).

Skills: This class will cover the basics of importing files, and creating CNC programs using VCarve Pro
What you’ll be able to to do by the end of the certification: You’ll leave with resources to design your own unique 3d products.
What we provide: Tuition includes client copy of program VCarve: Makerspace edition
What you need: Seattle Makers will provide the necessary computers and software for the class.

Optional: You can download VCarve Pro 11.5 trial for use on your personal computer.  We can then email you a Seattle Makers makerspace client edition license verification so your designs can be cut on the machines at the space.
