⚡Programmable LEDs

Ready to level up your electronics skills? In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn the basics of working with programmable LEDs by creating your own sound-reactive lamp. No experience required!

You’ll learn how to:

  • Solder and power an LED strip
  • Connect LEDs to a microcontroller
  • Upload custom ✨vibecoded✨ patterns
  • Integrate sensors and buttons

This class is a great primer to unlock LEDs for other applications like smart homes, cosplay, and light installations.

What you’ll do: Create a sound-responsive, edge-lit acrylic lamp with embedded RGB LEDs

Whom it’s for: Anyone aged 14+ (youth 14-16 must have a guardian present). Basic Arduino and soldering experience may come in handy, but are not necessary.

What we’ll provide: All necessary tools, materials, and PPE (including laptops!).

What to bring: If you’d like to use your own laptop, we’ll send out instructions beforehand on how to get set up.

Please sign up at least 24 hours in advance. To check availability within 24 hours of this event’s start time, call (206) 659-1726.
