Ready to level up your electronics skills? In this hands-on workshop, students will move beyond breadboarding projects by building a shelf-ready acrylic lamp. Learn how to research electronic components, design circuits, and of course… ✨LIGHT UP LEDS✨
In the first session, you’ll build a prototype circuit to learn how to use the various components in the project. The second session continues with integrating the electronics into a pre-fabricated enclosure and coding your own custom LED patterns.
This course is ideal for beginners with some Arduino or soldering experience who want to take the next steps in the electronics hobby.
What you’ll create: A responsive, edge-lit acrylic lamp with your own custom LED patterns
Whom it’s for: Anyone aged 14+ (youth 14-16 must have a guardian present). Basic Arduino and soldering experience preferred, but not necessary (if you’ve blinked an LED before, but you’re not sure where to go now, then you’re in the right place).
What we’ll provide: All necessary tools and materials provided.
What to bring: A laptop with the Arduino IDE installed (this can be borrowed from the makerspace if needed).
NOTE: lamp shown in photo is a prototype and may differ from the class outcome
