Saturday night (5/30), Seattle Makers was broken into and ransacked, with several thousands of dollars of damage and theft. No staff or volunteers were here at the time, and no one was hurt. While we’re momentarily discouraged, this loss of property is nothing compared to the loss of life and liberty that Black folks in this country suffer every day. We understand the rebellion in Seattle and around the country is a reaction to systemic injustice. Seattle Makers stands with all those demanding justice for George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Manuel Ellis, Tony McDade, and all Black folks murdered by the State.
