Would you like to learn how to make custom toys for the holiday season? Become a version of Santa’s Elves and make something unique is holiday season!
This class is part of our Toy Maker Series! In this three part series, we’ll be prototyping your toy designs, making molds, then casting toys from resin. Part I is the prototyping phase where you’ll sketch then physically sculpt your idea. Part II will cover using silicone to make molds from your prototype. Finally in Part III we’ll use the molds we made to cast our toys out of resin. The series will take place over 3 months with a new course offered each month. Attendees can sign up for single classes or the whole series. Class prices include material fees.
In part I of the Toy Maker Series, we’ll be prototyping toy designs. To begin, each student will create some rough sketches of what they want to design. We’ll have paper and pens, but attendees are welcome to bring their own sketch pads and implements. Next, we’ll shape those ideas with aluminum foil before using polymer clay to fully sculpt our prototypes. The instructor will demo sculpting techniques, tool usage, sketching and prototyping.
